Shri Amitabh Kumar, IRS is an Indian Revenue Service (C&IT) officer of the 1992 batch. During his over three-decade career, he has held several positions in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India where he was associated with formulation of indirect tax policy formulation and planning.
Shri Amitabh Kumar is presently posted as Additional Secretary and Director General of Trade Remedies in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India and handled the portfolios of Trade Negotiation— Multilateral (TNM), Plurilateral Arrangements (G-20, G-7 BRICS, Commonwealth) , Appellate Committee under FT (D&R) Act, Vigilance , Chief Negotiator – IPEF.
Shri Amitabh Kumar holds the degrees of LL.B from Delhi University and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE), Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.
